Community Relations
FPRA Gainesville’s community relations wing is dedicated to assisting the Gainesville community. Each year, this is done in a variety of ways. In 2010-2011, FPRA Gainesville’s Community Relation Committee decided to serve the community with a donation of professional public relations and marketing hours. The Community Relations Committee is made up of public relations and marketing professionals in a variety of industries.
The committee offered its professional expertise to the Gainesville not-for-profit community by sending out a request for proposal seeking local not-for-profits in need of public relations assistance. After receiving many excellent proposals, the committee chose Bread of the Mighty Food Bank. In collaboration with the not-for-profit, the Community Relations Committee created a dynamic visual communications plan with a website analysis and a new brochure.
The Community Relations Director is also a resource to local not-for-profits as a liaison to the FPRA Gainesville Board and Chapter. If you are a Gainesville not-for-profit and would like to set up a time to talk to a public relations professional, are seeking public relations speakers or simply would like to inquire about general public relations or marketing questions, please contact Allison Downey, Community Relations Director.
