Students
Students and student members are an important part of the Gainesville Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association. The educational committee works with local public relations students to plan networking events for students and professionals and field trips to area agencies, businesses and nonprofits. It also supports career preparation programs and promotes internships to help students acquire expertise in “real-time” public relations situations, and to help public relations professionals meet the demands of “real-time” situations using qualified, skilled pre-professional student assistants.
The committee works with graduate and undergraduate students enrolled in the University of Florida’s College of Journalism and Communications, particularly those who are members of the Alpha Chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA). All students attending Santa Fe College, Lake City Community College and UF are welcome to participate.

Recap: PRSSA’s “Market Yourself” Career Preparation Event
Thanks to our members who came to UF PRSSA’s (Public Relations Student Society of America) “Market Yourself” seminar on Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2010. These members helped public relations students at UF sharpen their resume and job interviewing skills.
