North Central Florida Local Image Awards

The North Central Florida Image Awards Artists’ Reception & Awards Gala was held April 16 at the Samuel P. Harn Museum of Art.  Guests were treated to a very special evening.  While sampling fine wines during a wine tasting, attendees listened to live music by a local jazz trio, had an opportunity to have their portrait drawn by a local artist and browsed the fine art exhibits at the Harn.

As the awards program began, the audience enjoyed a palette of delicious foods and a performance by a group of our community’s finest ballerinas.  After the presentation of the esteemed Image Awards, Miss Alachua County Katie Crews entertained the group with a beautiful vocal performance.  It was a wonderful evening, and we would like to congratulate this year’s winners from the Gainesville Chapter, as listed below.

Division A, Public Relations Programs

  • An Image Award and Judge’s Award to RTI Corporate Communications and RTI United Way Committee for the 2007 RTI United Way Campaign
  • A Judges Award to Bob Woods, Kate Parmelee and Laura Rawson for Gainesville 101: The 2007 City of Gainesville Citizen’s Academy.
  • An Image award to RTI Corporate Communications for the 2007 RTI Donate Life Month Campaign.

  • An Award of Distinction to Steve Tillman, Ed Albanesi, APR, Joey Mazzaferro and Rod Hemphill, APR, CPRC for the Florida Farm Bureau’s 2008 Calendar.
  • A Judge’s Award to Kate Parmelee, Laura Rawson and Bob Woods for the City of Gainesville 2007 Citizen’s Report.
  • A Judge’s Award to Steve Tillman and Rod Hemphill, APR, CPRC for the Florida Farm Bureau’s Greenbelt Brochure.

Division C, Audiovisual Tools of Public Relations

  • An Award of Distinction and Judge’s Award to Nickie Doria, APR, and Jennifer Wheeler for Emmer Development Corporation Realtor E-Newsletter “Money Seeds.”

Division D, Student Projects in Public Relations

  • The University of Florida 2007-2008 Bateman Team won a Judges Award for their Gear Up, Buckle Up PSA and a Judges Award for the Gear Up, Buckle Up Campaign.
